Another Successful Bed Building Day for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Chattanooga!

MCFAH first contributed to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Chattanooga Chapter, in August of 2020. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a group of volunteers dedicated to finding those children who are sleeping on the floor or otherwise unwanted conditions, and delivering hand-built bunk beds free of charge. With the help of many excited volunteers on Saturday 9/26/20, SHP Chattanooga successfully built 100 new beds for children in need!

A Very Special ‘Thank You’ from
Welcome Home of Chattanooga

In August of 2020, MCFAH donated to $5,000 a wonderful organization, Welcome Home of Chattanooga, bringing our total to over $100,000. We have been donating to them for years and were excited to contribute again to its important cause. MCFAH is honored to share a warm thank you letter we received from Welcome Home’s Executive Director, Sherry Campbell.

Dearest Jack,

Your commitment to our mission is wonderful and we want you to know how grateful we are. A big thank you to you and the Multifamily Coalition for Affordable Housing and the incredibly generous grant of $5,000 we received in August!

We currently have a full house, five residents who mean so much to us. Red, Kim, Billy, Pat and Jeff. A local organization, The Chattery, started a pen pal program for us this summer. We have been flooded with cards for not only our current residents but those who have moved onward, this has been a lot of fun for us. Connections are important, especially during these times. We were also transported by limousine to the Chattanooga Zoo for a special morning of feeding the giraffes. We firmly believe in the healing power of nature and animals- all God’s creatures- and the joy they bring. It was a fabulous morning.

We are also very excited to share that we just purchased property for our future Welcome Home! This 4.5 acres will help increase our capacity of care and help us better serve our residents and the community. We will keep you posted on our progress.

That is part of what we have been up to this summer. We hope your summer is going well and that people are as kind and generous to you as you have been for us.

Wishing you many blessings,
— Sherry Campbell, LMSW
